Account deletion

Delete your Scores of Chores account

Scores of Chores is made by 3rd Way Co. You can delete your account, your family's data, or your child's profile at any time — most of it from inside the app, and we walk through it below. If you can't access the app for any reason, email us and we'll complete the deletion for you within 5 business days.

If you're a parent — delete the whole family account

This removes the parent's account and every family member's data together.

  1. Open the Scores of Chores app.
  2. Tap Account in the bottom navigation.
  3. Scroll to the Delete account card.
  4. Tap Delete.
  5. Confirm. The deletion runs immediately.

If you're a child signed in on your own device

This is only available to a child who has their own sign-in (not a child sharing a parent's device — those profiles are deleted as part of the parent's flow above).

  1. Open the Scores of Chores app.
  2. Tap Account in the bottom navigation.
  3. Tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm.

What gets deleted

When a parent deletes the account:

  • Every family member's profile (parents, co-parents, children)
  • All rooms, chores, and the reward catalog
  • Every chore submission (including notes and history)
  • Every reward redemption and payout record
  • Any submission photos still in Firebase Storage
  • The Verifiable Parental Consent verification record
  • The parent's Firebase Authentication user
  • Everything in the app's local database on the parent's device

When a child on their own device deletes their account:

  • Their Firebase Authentication sign-in
  • Their member record in the family
  • Their submission photos still in Firebase Storage
  • Their redemption requests
  • The parent's view of the family — chores, rewards, the catalog — is left intact for the rest of the household.

What's retained, and for how long

  • Firebase backups.Google's Firebase service keeps internal backups for approximately 30 daysafter deletion as part of its standard infrastructure. The data is no longer accessible to us or through the app, but Firebase's own backups are not purged until that window passes. After ~30 days the data is irretrievable.
  • Crash reports. If the app crashed for you before deletion, Firebase Crashlytics retains crash traces for up to 90 daysper Firebase's standard retention. These contain stack traces and in-app breadcrumbs only — no names, no email addresses, no photos, no family content.
  • Submission photos before deletion. Photos are normally deleted within ~60 seconds of parent approval or within 24 hours of rejection. If you delete the account before that, any photos still in transit are removed as part of the account-deletion flow.

We do not retain any other category of data after deletion.

Can't access the app?

If you cannot complete the deletion in-app — lost device, locked out, or for any other reason — email privacy@scoresofchores.app with:

  • The email address on the account.
  • Whether you want the entire account deleted or just a single child's profile.

We'll complete the deletion on your behalf within 5 business days and email you to confirm.
